Proviron – PROVIPEX 25 Overview

Proviron (mesterolone) is an orally active, 1-methylated derivative of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT itself is formed from testosterone via the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme and is 3–4 times more androgenic than testosterone. It cannot convert into estrogen.

Despite its strong androgenic profile, mesterolone is not highly anabolic in muscle tissue. The body regulates DHT levels through the 3-alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase enzyme, which converts excess DHT into a largely inactive compound. Because of this control mechanism, much of administered mesterolone becomes inactive before exerting strong anabolic effects, making it poorly suited for significant muscle hypertrophy.
